Because they already are abstract and immaterial. In order to obtain them they need not to be abstracted from concrete reality (in the sense that -- only -- concrete reality would contain them), because not ALL mathematical structures are contained in concrete reality. In all cases where they (also) are contained in concrete reality, they have happened ' to fall ' into its domain.
