Everywhere where we use the example  ' white ',  or  ' whiteness ',  being a color, we assume for the sake of argument that white is indeed a color. In fact we know that white is not a single color, but a mixture of different colors. This, however, is immaterial in the present context. The fact that we so often use this example is because it is so widely used in the classical literature dealing with accidents.
