Note 239

Which [molecular weight], as a result of the high content of water, the presence of nutrients, of framework materials, and of stock materials, [further, as a result] of varying body size, and of metabolism [also] in the state of hunger, is without interest. The average weight of the organism as functional size, does has certain relationships with the organismic one-molecule and is, for example, regulated by it. An organismic molecular weight, having, as has been said, not too much interest, would vary with view [about it] between a lowest boundary value, which could be surprisingly small, and an upper boundary value being just the weight of the organism.
