Note 305

The amount of time needed in inorganic formation [of molecules] most often is negligibly small, so that one places the beginning of such inorganic individuals within the chemical reaction producing them. This is -- exceptions not considered -- taken to be timeless, because the possible amount of time necessary is, even in the case of reactions lasting hours or days, not all connected with the very formation [of the inorganic individual] itself, but with creating the conditions of this formation. This latter component will certainly also play a role in the formation of the organismic individual.
